DRT....oh yea

I am using Samson Arborist 12 mm rope. I am the wrong guy to ask on what to use. Look up NY Saddlehunters on YouTube and check out their videos. They recommend Samson Predator but it was not in stock when I ordered.

I am tying a Blake’s hitch on both lines. It pulls the weight bearing hitch up just like the hitch climber minus the noise and need for hardware.

I've been watching those DRT videos as well. I tried it out in the back yard a little and I like it. Just have to invest in a good length of rope, but that will probably have to wait till next season. I was thinking about carrying extra paracord all this season though and start making my presets to be ready for next year to make the switch over easier.

A fellow saddle hunter told me about Sterling rope shorts you can get 10-15m of half inch rope for 22 bucks only thing is it’s random color but I pack my rope at hunting height so it doesn’t matter much

Will 10m be enough for knots and all?

I won’t give a recommendation because I do not know what won’t work. I know the NY Saddlehunter guys use Samson Predator that’s 11 mm and I’m using Samson Arbormaster that’s 12 mm.

Thanks to those NY Saddle Hunter guys you've got another DRT convert here. I love to be tied up the whole time and the knots are easy. Since I have a Kestral I just shorten my linesman belt to make my short bridge. Add a locking carabineer to that, time my knots and up I go. I use 11.4 mm Blue Line Assault rope.

I use a Kestrel as well with an adjustable bridge.

One thing I really liked was how easy it was hanging a platform. I hung it and just climbed higher to get in it. It needed adjusted so I repelled down a little and adjusted then back up.

I'll be giving DRT a try as well. For those looking for rope, wesspur has samson predator rope in stock now. I ordered in the morning the other day and had shipping confirmation in the afternoon the same day.
