Hey guys looking to get into rappeling after a hunt. Working on buying everything I need so I have another question. If I make it up the tree with 9mm Canyon using https://doublesteps.com/product/6mm-eye-to-eye-sling/ as my friction hitch at hunting height, when it is time to come down using a figure out can I transfer the 6mm friction hitch down and use it as a rappelling back up? Is that safe to do or will I have to buy a hollowblock rope instead?

You can and I did it for years. Set your lineman's belt. Move the prussik from your bridge to your lineman's belt loop. Clip in whatever rappel device or munter hitch it and down ya go. It worked better for me below the device because then the device bore the bulk of my weight as oppose to the hitch being above the device and thus bearing the bulk of my weight. Hope this helps.

I use my rappel rope with a swabisch hitch and a tender as my tether. When ready to rappel I attach a figure 8 to my lineman loop, tending hitch on way down.

That will work perfectly. I would suggest you consider just about any friction hitch other than the traditional Prusik. The prusik has a tendency to really lock up once weighted. My preference is the Schwabisch or the Distel hitches. Both will release easy enough once weighted.
