Like most here I'm obsessed with gear. Since I started hunting I never liked carrying my bow in my hand.

I lurked on here since 2014 before pulling the trigger in a saddle but always knew i would eventually just due to the fact that it could allow me to strap by bow to a pack and walk into the thick stuff hands free.

So l had my eye on an eberlestock tailhook pack for years as it opens up and if your facing it like you would be in a harness it seems very good. To my dismay Eberlestock stopped making them 2 years ago but the good lord seen fit to have me find a guy selling a brand new one last year for a great price.

Now my hands free dream has come to be thanks to the saddle and eberlestock and the butt bucket.

I highly recommend this pack if you can find one used. Got mine on archery talk

I just picked one up for cheap online. Don’t have it in my hands yet. You still liking yours?

I've moved to the mini me. If I go back to using sticks it will be my go to pack. It's a great pack just a bit much for my current set up. It's a great pack

do the sticks stay secure on the sides? It looks like there’s only one buckle on the bat wings to hold in the sticks?

I really like the x2, though I wish it had a smaller footprint in the tree.

I love my X2 with a butt bucket for throwing everything on my back and making those long treks, as well as being enough pack to get a whitetail out on my back. However it does take up a lot of room in the tree like mentioned above. I’ve come to realize if a pack is big enough to do everything I want one to do, it’s going to take up some room in the tree. I usually just hang it week side about knee height, so it doesn’t get in the way of a shot.

Am I the only hunter who uses his x2 as a knee pad? So far I haven’t had any problems doing that. I just place it directly in front of me low enough that my knees can rest on the bottom half of the pack and it has worked well for me.
