I'm looking for a new pack. I'm debating between the Horn Hunter Main Beam and the Erbelestock X2. My question on the X2 is about inside the main compartment. I can't seem to find any images that show the inside. Are there storage/organization pockets inside the X2 main compartment, or is it just a bare open compartment without internal pockets?

It is one big bare open pocket sir! Kind of a miss. But ive still been using it for 4 seasons now and can't find a better pack.

It’s one big open pocket. It can expand or compress down and I like that feature. The material can be a little noisy under really cold conditions but I just deal with it.

I‘m with Philsanchez76……. Not perfect but best I have found for my needs so far.

Yeah, you can overanalyze these things (I know I did), but this pack works really great for saddle hunting.

I use this pack for mid-late lesson and the Dagger for early and scouting. Nice little combo for my needs.

Same. I picked up the dagger 2 years ago when it was on sale for $50. Its on sale for $77 right now which is still pretty solid. I used it up until its cold enough that I need to start toting in jackets and layers. Then the X2 comes out for the remaining 2 months or so of the season. So far ive beat the daylights out of both of these packs. Talking a lot of briars and thorns and over stuffing etc. no failures, not even a seam coming loose. great packs.

That's where my issue comes in. I have an old Bad Lands pack, not even sure which one it is, but I need more cubic inches. I believe my pack is about 1500 cubic inches. I hunt in Michigan, sometimes the Upper Peninsula, and I need to pack layers. I'm stressing my current pack enough that the zippers are starting to give.

I’ve been running the X2 for 2 years now and have not run into any issue packing everything I need even during cold weather sits when I pack my fanatic jacket in. Nah is built like a tank

I think that's why the X2 keeps getting the nod. Its cuz its really has no main zippers (other than the small ones on the top flap for small stuff) to break. You can literally just keep stuffing stuff into it and lashing stuff onto it and there's nothing to really break. The compression straps are super solid.
