Eberlestock X2 water bladder

I use one all the time. I use three different 3L bladders. Doesn't really matter which, they fit right in the side pockets and even have a slit at the top for the hose.

Cool. Do you find having the water in the side pockets throws the balance of the pack off?

Of the 3 bladders you use, do you have a favorite for this pack? I was thinking a camelbak? I have never used one so I do not really know what I am looking for.

As far as bladders go. I prefer one with a detachable tube, replaceable mouthpieces, and a large filling area. I do not like the kind that open and then fold back over themselves to fill. The one I am using currently is a 100oz camelback. I just usually buy the one on sale on Amazon that meets the 3 things I mentioned earlier. I usually get a season per bladder.

No worries. The size of the side pockets will accommodate most bladders. Get the bladder you want, don't worry about it fitting the bag. I like my water, so I always take a lot. Better to have and not need, than to be tracking and run out of water. I haven't tried an insulated tube yet. The slit might be a little small for that.

I agree. At this point, this pack is my rut pack so alot of water is important during my all day hunts. I tend to be a minimalist but packing layers and enough water was tough. This pack should do it.

I have tried the minimalist thing, but I like to be comfortable. I don't mind rain wind snow, hell, I spent 5 summers in Kodiak, talk about some uncomfortable weather. I get all my essentials and then try and find the lightest from there. Weapon, climbing, Water, food, TP, a kill kit, clothing, ability to pack or get an animal out of the woods. I read about guys that leave a kill kit in the truck to save a pound. I go into the woods to kill, not walk back and forth to my truck.
