Last hunt was a damp one. More than once my bored, rain enhanced movement on the stand involved some squeaks and pucker factor.

Shy of the paracord wrapping. Anyone do anything to slip proof these things? I know Ridge Runners come treated with something like rhino lining. Any success with rattle can bed liners? Tried searching, but that didn’t do too much good.

Wow, that surprises me. I hunted off my stock EDP in rain and snow more this year than in good weather. I can't recall a single slip or squeak. It always felt secure. Now you're going to make me go back out in the cold this weekend and see if I can make my feet slip. :tearsofjoy:

I saw someone buy those rubber diamond plate lookin pad deals from harbor freight and zip tie them to the top of their platform

Maybe the boots. Might be me. Who knows. I like the bite of that platform. It’s time to toss some paint on it. Might as well be grippy

Well Spence, it looks like you're gonna be our guinea pig this time...

Well if work isn’t crazy this week I’ll open up the lab and see. Off to YouTube for rattle liner reviews. I’ll be priming too.

I covered the contact points on a home made platform I made with grip tape like what they use on skateboard decks or pool steps etc. I cut it to fit, applied it then heated it gently with a small torch. Really made it easy to form to my platform.Worked great and makes a nice slip free and quiet platform.

Yeah the EDP not be easy to do that with. It’s rounded. Narrow. But I haven’t looked it in grip mode style

When I still used a hang on stand I tried the Paracord wrap and that was a mistake....once it gets wet it takes a while to dry....I bought some of the rubber coated wire at the hardware store in the gardening section...it has a thinner guage wire that other rubber wire tie and i essentially wrapped it like with the Paracord but rubber wire....much better

I have noticed during our snowy season that one pair of my hunting boots, in particular, squeaks on most metals... I have some grip tape made for skateboards that I put on my top of stick platform that does pretty well...

I’ve never heard mine squeak from my boots. I discovered the stand off was loose at one point and making a squeak noise. I had to put a piece of an old strap between the post and the stand off to make the fit tighter.
