Been finding the straps that run between my legs pinch pretty good after sitting awhile so went to Walmart and got these seat belt pads for less then $3 a piece and seems to work great

I haven't used mine in a while but I cut them and crossed them underneath and it helped a lot.
 
Crossing them helped a lot, left strap to right paw etc. I never did but I thought about stitching them together for a length to bring the pull of the straps up farther. May be an option. What you did looks good!
