Made a big leap forward toward getting my saddle hunting career going this past weekend...

I went to the Total Archery Challenge and Trophyline had a tent setup at the event. The guys from Trophyline were awesome and very helpful. I bought a pair of knee pads and a mission platform. On the way home I stopped and picked up a set of XOP ULTRA SERIES FIXED DOUBLE STEP that were open box at Jay's Sporting Goods and got a great price on. I have a Transformer Saddle that I purchased last fall.

I don't necessarily plan to be a run and gun hunter, but this setup gives me more options for trees to use and I can take down a setup a lot quicker.

Welcome to the addiction! It’s certainly been a game changer for me and has blown the lid off the fun factor! Knowing I can set up just about anywhere makes me look at the woods a lot different too! Have fun and be safe!

So true. Hang on and be patient! When I first started out, I spent a fortune trying out the new stuff. Funny thing is, I always seem to go back to the old reliable. There are a few things that are nice and make things easier or better but you’ll always have to buy to find out!. Try to keep it as simple as possible and realize not all new things are good things! Good luck this season.

Cant speak to the sticks but the rest of your gear is top shelf.

Next thing I’d like to find is a pack to pack my stuff out with. Any suggestions?
There is a lengthy backpack thread you should be able to easily find with the search button. Lots of choices in that arena and sorta depends on if you are primarily short distance hunting say half mile or less or if you normally hunt a good ways from the vehicle. Also, if you can or can not field quarter and pack an animal out can be a factor since that is not an option in some places.
