Over the years I have looked with interest but never bought one until now.
I practiced for 2 days and am getting pretty good out to 30 yds.
Im what they term “ elderly (old) HaHa.
Question has anybody hunted with one for at least a whole season?
Not here to bash just interested.
over the many years I have hunted with pendulum, slider pin and fixed.
killed lots of does in the early years with the pendulum.
So give me your thoughts if you are hunting with EZ V ?

Six pages of discussion:

I prefer the ezv to a pin sight because I don’t like covering up the spot I want to hit with a pin.

Same here, I'm not as accomplished as these other guys, but I've been hunting 3-4 years with one and shot 3 deer from 20-35 yards with it. I've been debating trying pins on a slider again because I have some future western/longer range hunts planned but the v is great for eastern whitetail. Some guys use it out west/long range too

WOW
This has always been the place to get good insight.
Also a place where I find out where and what to spend more money on
Thanks I think I’ll practice.
Any words of advice?

I used it. I think the yardage estimation capabilities are overrated. It does offer a clearer sight picture to someone with bad vision on close up shots.

Short version of my thoughts on it - it offers no material advantage over a pin sight for whitetail hunting.

As a fellow old guy (aka bi-focally challenged) who wears contacts that correct for my distance vision while hunting the biggest benefit I get with the EZ-V is that I don't need to try to discern fuzzy sight pins from the target. The contacts correction for distance makes even seeing a sight pin difficult for me. The EZ-V allows me to focus entirely on the spot I'm trying to hit while just framing the deer in the V.

A secondary benefit for me was that it helped cure some of my target panic. Since I'm not trying to force my release while my pin is exactly aligned with the target it has really helped me just focus on the point of aim itself and squeeze through the shot. I find I just look at my intended impact point and when I release that's where the arrow ends up. I'm not sure if this is true for others but it has been helpful for me.

EDIT: I will admit that I personally agree the EZ-V doesn't really suit long distance shooting, for me anyway. That said I don't have any desire to shoot past 40yds ever and typically I am trying to set up for inside 30 yd shots.

I’ve considered the EZ V but haven’t pulled the trigger. I keep missing them when they are in the classifieds, lol. My biggest challenge with my glasses is my frames cover up my pins. I’ve had this issue with every pair of glasses I’ve ever worn. So I either have to move my head to see the pins, which is a bad idea, or wear contacts. My contacts are single vision and my glasses are bifocals but so far I can still see my pins up close with my contacts.

I tried one for a season and took it off and sold it. My windage was excellent but I've used a single pin for so long I can't get beyond it. At longer distances; similarly to what @kyler1945 said above, either my or the sight's range estimating abilities broke down considerably.

I still shoot with the tic marks, mainly because I am too lazy to change it/don't see the point of removing a reference. I practice at a range that is flat targets with spots so it's also somewhat helpful there. I like having the backup in the woods as well of a quick glance at the tics to verify since I usually know how far a 20-30 yard radius around my tree is. Why not keep it as easy as possible to kill a deer, I guess.

I have mine with the tick marks but don't even notice them when shooting deer. Pulled back the bow, lined up the V and let it rip without thinking of the ticks with no ranging. Killed one at 15 and one at 7 yards (ranged after the fact)

I have one as well. Just curious of you who have the EzV, have you turned the V over to the "pro" side. And how have you done with shooting without the tick marks.
