Looking for recommendations on good camo face paint products that aren’t greasy going on and don’t require taking off a layer of skin to clean off. What is everyone using?

Face mask. Not sure where you are located. Its typically cool enough here that too wear a face mask is no issue. Then I need not worry about the issues you mention. From prior experience with face paint its typically greasy or shave your face type stuff.

I've tried several that require a scrub brush to get off. Carbomask is great. A little soap and water or a baby whip and you're good to go.

I use a wine cork
  • Burn the end of the cork with a lighter
  • Let cool
  • Apply to ash to face (takes 2-3 times)
Benefits
  • Cleans off easily (keep wet wipes in truck)
  • Cork lasts 'almost' forever (you'll run out of fuel in lighter before cork)
  • They are FREE ...assuming you drink wine. And if you don't, just ask a friend for one

That is an awesome idea! Please tell me you figured this out by accident. haha.

One day I was cooking on my egg and got the black coal all over my hands. Got fussy about it, but went and washed it off ...easily. Then I thought ...this would be great for face camo. Only problem was by carrying a piece of coal, I would get everything nasty. Alas ...creating my own coal/ash with the wine cork!

Smart. Im also a died in the wool egg man. my hands are covered in coal dust every other day when I clean it out for a new smoke; but I never put it together. Thx for that!

Thanks for the suggestions. I do grow a deer beard during no-shave November but I usually can’t shave it off quick enough when December rolls around. Never would have thought of a cork... I have heard lots of good things about carbomask.

Haven’t used face paint since the Army. Always a face mask and honestly, even though I use it in the saddle, I don’t feel it is as necessary at 21 feet and higher, just my opinion

Cow poo and cow poo dirt. It helps mask scent, blends you in better than girly face paint cause it dont shine!!!

Natural camo roll on. It's by far the easiest to remove from my experience. Not oily at all, I rarely wear it though.

I don't generally worry about covering my face for deer. If I do (usually because I'm low to the ground) I use a buff cloth. But I honestly wear that more for cold or bugs than for camo.

However, for duck hunting, I do wear carbomask. Woodies definitely flare at past faces, and a mask interferes with blowing calls and drinking coffee.

Carbomask is the only paint I'll ever buy. Isn't greasy or shiny, and washes off quickly.
