Fanny packs

One thing I've done to mitigate some of this was to build a pack that is basically just a frame with a meat shelf. I can clip on my stick(s), platform and I just throw the fanny pack on there with a kill kit. When I go WAYYYY in and use the single stick method, I like this because its the best of both worlds. The pack frame, kill kit and game bags just hang out at the base of the tree while the stick, fanny pack and platform go up the tree with me. Its worked well for me because it still eliminates bulk but gives me options.
I have an old military frame pack and that is exactly what I had in mind.

So happy I found this forum, absolutely can't wait to get a saddle and get dialed in for next season. I am so pumped up right now for saddle hunting!

Hunted in my saddle yesterday evening. First time hunting from a saddle and actually almost shot a doe. Rookie mistake cost me the doe but oh well. Just wanted to follow up with my experience in the saddle. Wearing the fanny pack while hunting is a no go, area between bridge loops pulls together too close and would smash the fanny pack.
