Finished My First Set Up

I believe that my first set up is complete (for the most part).

Since I've already posted pictures of my DIY Saddle, here are the pictures of my DIY one stick system with an UP platform (3 pounds, 13 ounces). I started with a Muddy Outdoors stick and cut it down to size and drilled holes to lighten the load. No twisting from my testing.
I've added a small sash pouch on my left hip (small tether/lineman's belt and bow pull-up cord/MtsRunner Run&Gun pulley cord) and a roll up pouch for my right hip (rappel rope, autoblock prusik loop, figure 8, and maybe my climbing stick).

@mtsrunner mentioned to me that he hadn't seen the way that I was using my figure 8 before with the autoblock and figure 8 on the same carabiner and encouraged me to post a picture of it here. I can video me using it to hangout in the tree and rappel if there is interest.

Please let me know how you might see I can improve.

The final pictures are my first shots from the saddle at ~20 yards. I've clocked my arrows, nock tuned them, wrapped, fletched, and added 100 gr brass inserts to my arrows (accomplishing an approximately 14% FOC) and retuned my bow. I just ordered my first set of broadheads this afternoon (Magnus Buzzcut 100 gr). Once I'm confident with those, I'll order my hunting license. Getting closer...

That is awesome. Wish everyone had your desire to get it right and then go….

I’m just going to say if you do this with every venture in life, you’re winning at it!

Thank you for the encouragement. See anything I can improve on?

Killer set up man. Did you make the roll pouch? also trying to figure out how all the parts of your figure 8 set up work, you should think about doing a tutorial for it.

I did make the roll pouch. I bought the Aluminum G hooks from Tethrd but I had the other materials.

The short version of the figure 8 set up is:
- continuous loop of 1/4" Amsteel
- figure 8
- carabineer
- prussik cord loop

I larkshead the continuous loop of Amsteel to the bottom of the figure 8 and clip into my carabineer as if I was going to rappel. In the same carabineer, I use a loop of cord prussik hitched to the tag end of the rope. This acts as an autoblock, but doesn't require an extra carabineer since the figure 8 is extended from the carbineer by the Amsteel loop.

If I make a video I'll make a new thread about it.

I think your deer target deserves a DIY mod of its own. I have one and I am forever fussing over those stupid legs. Finally just leaned it up against the fence.

I received the body from one of the other members on this forum, and then I built the legs out of leftover pallet wood. It's working reasonably well right now. If I leaned it up against the fence, I would be shooting through my neighbor's fence.
