The accessory deal , I tried g2s thing , it was annoying !!!!!! use the kiss method , keep it simple stupid , just kidding but very simple here paracord make two loops in the end now go to home depot and get nite eyez hooks , clip one side of the spring tension spring out like G2 suggests , now , I use my back pack to hold it in place with a carabiner. You can clip as many of the night eyes on. Its light its simple , im still messing with how I want to attach my bow to this. G2 uses a hero clip, im not sure if this is what he is still doing , I have another option Im looking at as well once I get that down if it works I will let people know. Till then I wont suggest it, The hero clip works but I think I need to get a holder that slides on the paracord . I just know this is better so far then what g2 suggested with sewing the loops on a strap , I tried it , I wanted to choke him like bart simpson while I was trying to get it to work in the tree. It kept twisting. I personally don't like things to be difficult when I'm setting up to hunt.Just did my first saddle hunt yesterday. Glad to see posts like this as I appreciate learning from others' experience. I plan to use winter squirrel hunting as an excuse to practice climbing in the cold when deer season ends. I used the 5 step aider/tether climbing method with stirrups for a platform. loved the pack-ability and silence of the setup. At hunting height realized how many things I want to hang and thought about G2s vid on his accessory hanging rig will likely be my next project.
I would say this is part of that learning curve , because I've had to screw in a bow holder. which now that im facing the tree has to go to my left side. It screws in back ward. Three things here its one more thing to do in the set up process, its anoter item taking up space in my pack( I have a hawk small retractable one , and its kind of a pain to screw in which is technically illegal on public land. All these things are things that you need to practice. This is something that can prevent you from actually getting that shot. In all im trying to condense the amount of things im taking with me into the tree.
The idea isn't about speed and how fast I can set up but how easily I can set up and quietly set up. I didn't think this was going to be a big deal but it can be in many situations. I can literally step into the woods and have deer get up. So I have to change my entrances into the woods , and get in as quite as possible. Other times I can set up as if I was banging pans and have deer walk by later , but my point being that getting in and setting up as quite as possible is very important , that could mean the difference between shooting a deer and not shooting a deer. a wise old buck will hear the tink of metal and never come your way. Anyway sorry for going on and on its been a slow day trying to get my phone warrantied by Verizon. For the love of pete shoot me now!
