My wife and I had our second daughter on Tuesday afternoon. With that being said my season has quickly come to a end. I was going to blow some leaves yesterday when my wife gave me a hall pass to go hunting. Boom I was gone to the woods with not a lot of time. I got to a nearby by property and quickly scaled a tree over looking a field with a food plot in the back. I had only been in the tree a few minutes and was trimming a tree behind me with pruners so I could shoot 360° when I looked across the field and saw a deer coming straight for me at about 100 yards. I could see it was a big 6 that I had been seeing on cam all year. I had made a decision that if I could get a crack at him then I would take him. So sure enough I raised the .243 that I had bought when I was 12 years old from working with my dad the whole summer. I steadied up and let her rip. The buck piled up within 20 yards. I'm super happy to have that deer and it makes for a early end of season for me. Tomorrow I'll turn it in to burger, steaks, and roast.
