First DIY Saddle

I took a pair of old camo wrangler jeans and cut them down for the saddle seat. I had some tree stand harnesses that I used for the seat belt straps. My wife's sewing machine is not heavy duty so I had to do most of the fabric welding with the speedy stitcher.

Man you missed a prime opportunity for the first daisy duke shorts/saddle combo invention. If only you hadn’t sewn through both sides and just the back you could literally wear those things into the stand and be fashionable all at the same time!

I like the repurposing of old hunting stuff, just keep an eye on the denim it’s not a ripstop fabric should it burst.

That's pretty cool. This should get an award for the most thrifty hunting saddle ever. Good idea. I used an old, padded turkey seat that I didn't use anymore for my first saddle. Worked pretty well for a few hours but it would pinch my hips some.

This is awesome. And you can unzip the fly and throw some hand warmers in if your butt gets chilly! All kidding aside, great idea.

I built this for a practice saddle ,and I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's not going to win any beauty contests, but I believe it's comfortable, strong, and safe. I'm all in on saddle hunting, it's brought out the kid in me again. I cant' remember the last time I was this excited to deer hunt!!

Man this is great. Seat O the Pants saddle. Great use of items you have!!!

Funny you say this. I've thought about incorporating a saddle into a pair of overalls. Just stitch the appropriate webbing there and add the necessary loops. Designated pockets for ropes, and elastic loops to slide bolts in. Just put your Crocs and pants on, grab your bow, and go saddle-hunting!

Sounds like me in college...get out of bed with a tshirt and fleece pants on, thown on a pair of carhart overalls, get home, take off the overalls, sit on the couch and drink beer. Repeat.
