Got a doe down to start the season. 2nd hunt in the new flex. Absolutely love it above and beyond my old trophyline. The new Oplux ropes and Kong ducks are awesome. Doe came in 10 yards not a clue I was there perfect double lung. Set up is 4 WE stepps knaider swaider perch Oplux and Kong Duck paracord and hero clip gear holder.

Do you have any experience with the predator rope and ropeman 1? Just wondering your thoughts when comparing the two.

I've had both. The predator rope and ropeman 1 is a good set up. No complaints really. The oplux and duck is very packable. Maybe fills half of my sys hauler. Almost like it's not even there. I have since went back to 1/2" R&W rope with a ropeman 1. It's the same rope tethrd uses. I did that because I prefer the ropeman over the duck due to noise and I prefer the R&W rope over the predator.

I had Tethrd ropes and ropeman 1. And they work but like he said the pack ability is great. A little vet wrap on the clip and it’s silent

Just goes to show we are all different. You love the tethrd/r&w rope, mine never even made it into the field due to bulk and not loving the sheath material/texture. I really should sell/trade my tethrd ropes as presumably someone else would like them.

Maybe the most useful comparison would be how the stiffness of the oplux compares to predator (and rw) - (my impression is it's fairly similarly limp to predator, but i don't have it yet) and the texture of the sheath (more like predator/htp/rw?)

Level of stiffness for all three is about the same. The sheath on the oplux feels a lot more durable than the predator and R&W with minimal fraying. I noticed while using the oplux that flat spots would appear frequently in the girth hitch and at the location of the ascender. Probably meant nothing as far as strength goes especially with oplux having the super strong technora core but it made me feel a little uneasy. Due to this, I was constantly switching tethers and decided I'd go with a different rope atleast for now. Predator is nice rope but nothing stands out to me as far as being outstanding about it and it's often times difficult to find available. If you like hand spliced tethers R&W is hard to beat from a price stand point. My 7ft tether with 5" hand splice was right around 35 dollars I believe

Thanks for the detail. it may be useful to get sterling's feedback. From what I've seen, e.g. technora does weaken with repeated bending, possibly due to compression of the inside fibers of the bend. Our repeated use of specific portions of the rope could be relevant. Any flattening I guess could be signs of an issue, or an intended characteristic of the rope to minimize such damage.

I felt the tethrd rope sheath felt cheap and that they were very bulky. Even with splicing they were bulkier than the predator I was using, with a worse feel. I also think i preferred the action of my friction hitches slightly on the predator.

Also, you won't find rope much easier to splice than the R&W if you're up for a DIY splice.
