Had a great day in the woods today! Went to one of my public spots on COE land. I’ve e-scouted this place but never hunted it. I took my boat in and had half intended to just scout it out but took my stuff just in case. Found a nice tree at the end of a small drainage and climbed it. I was settled in about 2:15 and at 2:30 I heard footsteps coming in from behind me. This buck walked right under my tree, smelled around below me and turned and walked out on my off side at 15 yards!! I had already drawn and thanks to being in the saddle I was able to lean way out around the back side of the tree and make the shot!! Great buck for
NE TX public land!!

Bonus for y’all that wanted pics of dead deer in boats!!
