First Saddle Purchase: Dryad Drey vs Traditional Saddle

I've been lurking for a long time but thinking of getting my first saddle for some more mobile hunting when I don't want to lug the Lone Wolf. Looking for some help steering down the path of least regret.

When I saw Tethrd had a sale going I thought to get a Phantom....then started leaning Cruzr XC (that price!)....now I'm leaning hard towards a Dryad Drey...in all honesty, it kind of looks funny, but I also love swinging in my wife's Kammok so I can imagine its comfortable. Looking for folks opinions?

I have a Lineman's belt with a Ropeman, but figure I need all the other trimmings, including a platform (though i debated welding one out of aluminum, but kind of hesitant given its function!). Thoughts on best platform too?

I have a drey & love it! But if you’ve never saddle hunted I’d start with a traditional saddle so you know what you like. You can always attach the drey hammock to it to add comfort…….

I started with the original kestrel and now have the Drey. I love the Drey but it does require more fiddle factor than an average saddle. But I think it’s worth it cuz it’s lightweight and kind of endlessly adjustable. Super comfortable for long sits.

I was just going to say the same thin....I have had multiple different saddle and just got the drey to try out also.....Its way different (just tried it for the first time on the ground last night...no actual treetime yet) I liked both my Cruzr saddles and my JX3 but wanted something in between which is why I liked the looks of the drey.

I like mine & it’s a great gap b/w a reg saddle & the JX3 with no bulk/weight penalty. Another tool in the kit.
