When one of my buddies talked about hunting out of a saddle last year during a hunt I never thought about it till I found a tethrd Video by accident and it's been on ever since.Chompin at the bit for my mantis too get here,I'm 5 weeks out now and a thousand dollars poorer what with ordering the mantis kit and all this other gear having never set my butt in one till today. My buddy came over and brought all his gear and I got to try it out, med. Size mantis, rope man 1x2,and predator platform and muddy sticks all of which I ordered before ever talking to him.So I get the thing on with his instruction and we set the platform up at the 1foot mark and it took a little fiddling with adjustment but I was not too bad.Istarted trying different tether hight and that made it a little better then adjusted the waist belt a little lower and that made it a little better, tried leaning, sitting and swinging and side sitting and after messing with it for a while I got my old black widow out and tried shooting out of it.I set up in a tree in my lil back woods 3d range with targets 360 around the tree still only a foot off the ground, first shot 9 o'clock no problem,6 oclock pretty easy too just have to trust gear and lean in to it 12 o'clock was easy too then tried 3 oclock, that I can do but will need to practice a little just gotta brace a leg to keep from swinging.Overall shooting is not going to be a problem at all any where.I think with a few hours in this thing it'll be my go to set up,Anyone on the edge go ahead and order,I can see where this will make a world of difference In my hunting, wish I knew about the saddle world a long time ago.
