Havent even made any purchases yet. Just been doing research on everything. Very lucky to have all the resources available on this site, so thanks for that. While doing a lot of it DIY seems fun, I dont have much time on my hands so Im thinking of pulling the trigger on one of the Phantom custom kits from Tethrd. Im sure I will have plenty of time down the road to tweak things. Not settled on climbing method, but since I hunt mostly public and go on long hikes in, weight and size are vital. Leaning towards WE steps utilizing either Red Squirrel, Cain, or potentially knaider/swaider methods. Although, the simplicity of DRT method is intriguing. I'll probably give the throw ball a try and see how it goes.

Anyhow, hello from Louisiana. Looking forward to my new addiction.

Welcome from Georgia. If you’re anywhere near these guys I would take them up on their offer. Nothing like seeing it in person and trying to use it to help the decision making process on what to buy.

Welcome from Maine! As @EricS said, if you can meet up and try stuff do it! Saddle hunting gear is so diverse (and pricey) that it's worth trying before buying, if you can. I've found that after buying stuff, no matter how good it is, I still modify it to my style. So, trying stuff out may get the gears going on what you want to modify, before you can find the time to. Which will make it so you have to dwell on the idea and refine it in your mind, before actually executing it.

Welcome.
I’m in Thibodaux. If you’re near by I have WE steps, one stick, SRT, Red Beard Scout w/ workhorse aider etc you can check out.
Thats good to know for sure. Im in Port Allen. I hadnt seen the Red Beard method using the platform like that. I had liked the idea of one sticking, but thought carrying in steps would be less cumbersome than even a single stick, but if you are already carrying a platform though, two birds. I guess you could do something similar with a single WE step?

Now Im getting confused again...too many rabbit holes you can go down!

I'm in Denham Springs. Let me know if I can help.
Thanks. Im that way a good bit for work in Juban Crossing. I think I had seen another post of yours saying you hunt with a recurve. Going traditional is ultimately what I was aiming for but this'll be my first year hunting with a bow so easing into it with a compound. First year in saddle and in archery....going to be a lot of learning this year.

Welcome from coastal NC!!! And you are already getting a taste of our colorful humor on here! LOL

Welcome from Massachusetts! I started 2 years ago with the full Tethered kit and except for a few minor additions my stuff is still stock. I use WE steps and love them. I use the K/S, and I'll be climbing using the Cain method this season. It's not the lightest out there but it's plenty light and it packs great. I also use the predator platform. I feel you'd be hard pressed to find a more well rounded platform. Good luck gettin goin, it's a blast.
