I was wanting to let people know what I used all last year to carry all of my gear into the woods. Figured it might help a few of you saddle hunters. I started using a turkey vest with my saddle set up. When I was turkey hunting last year it just came to me to try it. You have all kind pockets for grunt calls, gps, bolts, SRT equipment like rope and stuff you can put in bag in back. But everything is right there and handy to get to. Plus you can use the the seat to rest your knees against the tree. Most turkey vest way around 2 pounds or so. Way lighter than packs. It worked flawless for me last year. Just haven’t figured a way to carry sticks yet on it. But it is light weight and your back isn’t soaked with sweat in the early season. I use the Bone Collector Thunder Chicken turkey vest. I would buy a cotton type turkey vest for the quite factor. Hope this helps some you saddle hunters as it has helped me.
