I am pretty well set for saddle gear, and since January I have had many sits in the saddle, but none over an hour or two. My only concern is my feet on the edge for long periods of time. I originally figured I would be sitting mostly, but after my time in the saddle it seems I will be leaning mostly and only sitting for breaks. My concern now is my feet on the edge on the platform for longer periods of time. One option I found helpful with leaning is angling the platform a bit, but lately I’m starting to look at angled platforms. I looked at the Onyx but the angle isn’t much and I’m not sure about the benefits. Another platform I have been looking at it the Cruzr Seeker, that was the platform I was going to start with, but went with the Trophyline Mission and EDP because of all of the great reviews and how good they lock on to trees.
Any input would be appreciated.

I would try some longer sits before worrying about it. I have never seen the need for an angled platform. I’ve hunted in every type of boot and never had foot issues on a platform.

I primarily lean & started with with mission but moved onto the seeker. I never had foot pain from the mission but what I found is being able to shift the angle my feet are at helps with ankle fatigue. I also discovered that the mission was a lot of wasted space for me, I find extra length to be of more benefit than extra width on my platform.

But as previously stated you need to try a longer sit first. You won't know until you get more experience.

I have also found the Mission to be wider than I need also.

This is a valid concern. Especially on all day sits with flimsy rubber boots with little to no support. One thing that I’ve done to help with this situation is to put two single steps onto the cam strap holding the platforms in place. One at the 3:00 and one at the 9:00 position (or so). Allows you to change the point of contact between your feet/boots and the platform.

Dunno how big a platform you're wanting but the solo scout is a pretty good small form factor lightweight piece of kit. If you were a one stick kinda fella I’d recommend the EWO UP angled platform.

14” wide X 13” deep. I’m half tempted to cut the sides down on my Mission.

Ah so you’re wanting a biggin. Not many platforms that big are gonna accommodate an angle; the purchase on the tree doesn’t work as the platform is too long and yours end up pulling away from the tree. You’d hafta cam that sucker hard or ratchet that thing to the tree like a rat on a Cheeto. With a platform that long I doubt you’d miss the angled bit and you have plenty of real estate for your boots. Heck you could turn completely around.

The Cruzr Seeker fills the bill I believe.

I'll add that neat feature with some the TreeTop stuff, like that Cyclone, is they sell an angled bracket that bolts into the holes on the top edge as it's shown. I feel like at the Expo last year there were options to put them on the sides too, but that may have been prototype stuff or something similar.

The Panther climber fellas also lean with feet on the arms.

Another idea, try a diy footrest.

The OOAL Ridge Runner XL offers some ankle angle as is if you prop feet on the bracket support.

@1canvas You definitely need some time in the trees to figure out what works and what doesn't. You will make enough changes in your setup (read buy more stuff) after trying out what you already have, if you buy more stuff before you even know what works you will be the poster child for the support thread. I don't say this lightly as mentioning that you might not want to buy more stuff could get me banned for the support thread!:fearscream: I like a little angle on my EDP so I adjust the leveling screw to give me a little angle.

I agree, I spent quite a bit of money already and it’s probably wise to hold off on spending more until I have more time in.

Boots with a stiffer shanks fix this for me (that have a heel). I slide the heel up to the edge and then just balance so that my weight is over my lower leg bones and I'm not having to steady anything with my muscles. My feet never hurt or get tired even after an all day sit.
