Friction hitch thoughts?

Awhile back @Brocky posted a photo of a way to make a friction hitch for an adjustable bridge. That same hitch worked as a tender and I thought it was cool. I assume it can be used for a tether and linesman as well, but I wanted to also ask if there’s any pros and cons to either style that you could think of? Here’s a couple photos to show you what I mean. Let me know what is better, worse, or if it doesn’t matter. I attached a photo of Brockys post too. He used a schwabisch and I used a distel, I figured either or should be fine?

On the bottom hitch in the first pic, I found it tends and breaks better if you will take the legs behind the rope and tie half a square knot below the hitch and then back to the front to attach the biner.

Tying a stopper knot at the end keeps it compact, putting the legs through the carabiner first, and then back over the top of the carabiner, is a little more compact than how you show. It also starts pushing the stopper against the hitch a little soon when hand tending.
The Distel doesn’t seem to tend as well with this method, the knot tends to ride up on top of the hitch, instead of pushing it.
