G.P.S. ideas, and recommendations?

I run Garmin Oregon 450 with the OnXMaps Chip and the OnXMaps App on my phone. I use both in the woods. The phone is primarily for aerials or hybrid. I use to have Birdseye on the Garmin but I grew increasingly dissatisfied with the quality.

I have had gamins since they first come out. I currently have a nice 62stx series. I have trouble seeing the small scratched up screen, Now with all the available features/ OnX on my iphone 7 plus and the nice clear large screen I have been using my phone more.
I like the ruggedness of the Garmin and the fact I don't need to keep taking my gloves off.
The phone is not as reliable for signal and battery power, never mind it is sensitive to water/ and heat.
So I am torn on what avenue to take. Buy an old iPhone plus put it in a wp case and use special touch screen gloves or go for the Montana style. I saw this model online and really liked it but I assume its too big. Garmin GPSMAP 276Cx. I need to get my hands on it.
Whats also interesting is those inreach models, we often are in areas with no cell service. These would be cool for texting and safety.
