I can't say for sure, but it was similar to the cherry trees I used to hunt in upstate NY. I'm not well versed in Southern Illinois flora.

Looks like a sycamore to me.... we have lots of them around here.

I sat in one in Indiana, they are beautiful, it's been bugging ever since. Don't have them as much in MI.
