For any of you guys who have put a pole/tree in your garage for saddle practice. How have you built it? If you have one post a picture of what you got!

If you YouTube NY Saddle Hunter, I believe they have a video showing off the tree they stuck in their garage.

I don't have a garage to put anything in myself.

Also welcome from another Minnesotan

Speaking of this, does anyone know of a good source to get a tree or pole like this to practice on? I would love to get ahold of something I can put in my yard (or garage) to practice with. All trees in my yard are way too big and useless for anything other than a ladder stand.

On the job site i'm on currently, the power company came and topped a bunch of poles and have yet to come haul them off. You could always keep your eyes peeled for something similar around you. There were different sized poles, so the cut pieces probably range between 8-12 ft.

Oh my god,I just imagined coming over to one of your guys houses and seeing you hang in a saddle in a garage. That would be too funny. I mean I get it,but non saddle hunters may not.

You’ll want to pass on those pressure treated poles from Menards. I have one that the idiot former owner of my house decided would make a better post than the metal one he cut out in my basement. Anyway....they’re SLICK! Anything I put on slides right to the bottom. Even a Shikar with a ratchet strap didn’t hold.

I have one of the menards fence posts installed in my basement range. I hand picked the roughest one from the pile to prevent things from slipping down it.
