I've been doing something similar to this with a Ropeman 1 (instead of hand accender) attached to the main line which is attached my tether via prussik (for adjustment) that I use for a foot loop

I always carry paracord with me so if I climb up with the sticks and I like the spot I leave a loop up so I can DRT it later. DRTing with a foot loop is WAY easier and less movement than pulling and hip thrusting, I've pumped up a few times when the deer were close by without them knowing I was there.
 
I don't bother with the SRT gear but use a bight of the down rope as a step. I do find it much easier than the hip thrust and doesn't require tree contact.
