Good hunt gone bad

I got to the woods at 9:45 am. Scouted my way in and had 2 does walk past me at 20 yards. I started hanging my set at 10:30 and another doe came in and bedded 50 yards away. At 1:45 another doe. 2:15 3 more. At 3:45 I reached around the tree to adjust my bow hanger and down it went. 18 feet. It hit so hard it nocked all of my arrows out of the quiver. I started taking all of my stuff down and packing up. I inspected everything and it looked good so I carefully drew it back. Everything was good. I left and went to the range. I took one shot at 20 and 30 and it’s dead on. I’m very lucky.

Glad it didn't break on ya. That would really suck. If possible, try to have a back up bow. I know that isn't always possible but even by keeping an older bow set up and tuned and if it needs strings/cables updated, get it done so you have something to fall back on..... no pun intended.

Besides myself falling, dropping my bow is my biggest fear when I'm up there.

My darn pull up rope broke once when the bow was about 6" from my hand and down it went in the dark..sickening feeling. Glad it's ok

I do have an old bow. I need to get it set up again.

depending on where the impact hit it might be a good idea to run a cotton ball (both directions) down all the edges/surfaces of your limbs. if anything snags take it to a bow shop immediately. those limbs are under an incredible amount of stress, any failure can be catastrophic. better to be safe than sorry
