GPS tracker for items recommendations?

I'm looking for a gear recommendation, and all I can find on search engines are advertisements masquerading as actual reviews.
I'm going on a trip, and I've got to pack some valuables in my luggage. I'd like to put a GPS tracker in my luggage - and, if cheap enough, in one of the valuable items - and I don't know where to start. I use Androids, so I think Airtags are out of the running. I see Tile devices locally, but they're labeled for keys and such, and I want to be able to locate my luggage from outside of Bluetooth range.

A lot of us travel to hunt. Who puts trackers in their bow or gun cases? What works? What doesn't? What are the weak points? Any success or horror stories?
