Been lurking on here for about a week now, finally decided this might be the forum for me. I have been hunting since childhood in TN for deer and other critters.
I had a slight lull in hunting in my late teen years due to girls, cars, and all that jazz, but I'm now almost 25, and have been back hunting for about 4.5 years now. I picked hunting back up by way of the bow, and ever since then I've been trying to be a successful bowhunter. About a year ago I had the same experience many of you on this board had, and read John and Chris Eberhart's books. My eyes were opened, and after having a so far very disappointing run this season with a climber...I realized I need a change in my style of hunting that I've been teetering on ever since reading the Eberhart books. Although not a current owner of a saddle/sling, I fully plan on selling my climber and switching over after this season is over and converting to the Eberhart method of deer hunting. I am currently torn between the Guido's Web and the New Tribe Aero Hunter Evolution. Both have their definite pros and cons, but I'd like to hear more from y'all on the subject. I figured this, if any, would be the place to figure that out for myself. Thanks for having me!

I have not used a guido's web so I can't speak much to that, but I believe the biggest advantage of the web would be comfort.

What are you looking for? Something to hike long distances in with to the hard to reach areas? Just a better style to hunt easy to access spots?

I am currently using an aero hunter, previously used an ambush model tree saddle. These are both light models, way lighter than the web. I hike in to spots a lot and want to minimize the weight and bulk I have. The evolution is very adjustable and once I got it set correctly it is definitely more comfortable than my tree saddle. I have done 3 all day sits so far this year, and put 40 hours in my evolution over the 5 days.

Let me know if that helps and if you have any more questions. Welcome again! :D

My experience is only in a leather tree saddle. Like redsquirrel, my goal has always been lighter, quieter, faster set up. I'm not getting any younger, and comfort sounds like a worthwhile feature, but I'll probably stick to my treesaddle for awhile. I'm considering making my own saddles though, to include a hammock style and a minimalist webbing style. Perhaps I'll try to make my own web.... ;) Good luck with your new adventures! I love saddle hunting! Cheers, Kirk
