@Kurt ! I too am looking to build as, the Ranch Fairy calls em, an "Adult Arrow" for next year. Thanks to all of ya'll for your input! Great info. My current setup is a Bowtech Convergence 68# , 340 spine 28 5/8" arrow with a 100 grain Rage expandable. Not sure of the weight or FOC. Bow was new for this past season and it killed the only deer I shot at. My old bow was a Parker with the same arrow setup and shot it for about 8 years. Killed plenty of deer with it. BUT.... I just didn't like the lack of penetration I got on most of the deer I shot with these setups. Didn't get a pass through on most of my shots. Including the buck from this year. So here I go down the "Adult Arrow" rabbit hole!
I have a question about "Bleeder Blades". My only experience with those are waaaaaaaay back (35 years ago or so?) when I first started bowhunting with my Bear that I bought from Kmart and my 3 pack of Bear Razor heads that, I screwed onto the end of my randomly picked arrows. And NO, the results were not impressive. Anyways just curious how, if at all, do you resharpen those bleeder blades. Or do you just replace the bleeder blades? Or Do I even need to shoot a head that uses them?
Again, super new to all of this Heavy, Single bevel, double bevel, bleeder blades, no bleeder blades Broadhead stuff. Thanks in advance for any advice!
