Ground Blind Set Up on Bedding Entry

DaveT what kind of guille suit are you using? I have a leafy suit but it is a little to green for deer hunting and was thinking of getting a guillie or building one

I made one from an existing allpredatorcall.com kill suit. I just added a lot of stuff to break up the outline even more. I kept the left inside sleeve bare and the left upper portion of chest. I made a cover for my head and added a lot of leaves and stuff to it.

I sometimes still just use my ASAT leafy suit as well - but I use that more for trees. I like the modified kill suit from the ground best.

I also build a detachable bow ghillie blind that hides my drawing arm and movement (made out of same stuff I added to kill suit). Using trad gear I don't hold long :D

I personally do not care for traditional ghillie for bowhunting at all. The pick up too much junk, are heavy when wet, and they can screw up a shot in a heart beat. I also would not wear the pants nor would I wear it to hunt - I would put that on after I get to the location. With mine, I can easily wear it to my hunting location and it packs up pretty dang tight and can be stuffed in a pack. A traditional ghillie does not pack up real great.

This is a creek we cross sometimes by pirogue. My buddy hunts across it a lot. He says he just turns his light off when he crosses. It's better to not know. Lol.

They never really bothered me, but I DON'T LIKE TURTLES ... they creep me out. Not a fear, more of an aversion to turtles.

I'm not sure which one of these statements worries me the most....

Hahaha. What? Turtles are creepy. You ever seen a snapping turtle that weighs almost as much as you do? Ain't natural I tell ya

Shaun

Didn't they make a movie about some of them???

Did they? I wouldn't know. You forget who you're dealing with here:
No tv
Rarely goes into town except for work.
Last time I went to movies was because I convince my girlfriend to read Into The Wild , so when the movie came out she had to go

But I'll explain my phobia of turtles:
When I was a young man and me and the girls would go skinny dipping, all I could think of were those old nature shows from when I was a kid showing those turtles with their mouth open and that little fleshy wiggling thing on their tongue. I couldn't help but to be concerned about my own fleshy wiggling parts.
Then I started kayaking. That's when I saw the big uns. They're freaking scary

Shaun

Caught this one running catfish lines. Didn't have a scale over 50 but it rang that sucker. It's head weighed 7#s. Got 2 gal ziplocs full of deboned meat. Ate good!

This thread has been officially hijacked    went right down the crapper lol

Man that last thing isn't a turtle ..... that's a beast

Yea we hijacked it lol.

I have been standing in a river trout fishing and pulled my stringer in only to find that there is only half a trout left on it. I certainly hope it wasn't a snapper as big as that one

So I can understand worrying about your fleshy parts lol.

Bumped into this dude on a golf course in Augusta, GA. He was HUGE! His shell was as big as a outdoor trash can lid.

And you didn't catch him!

Around here if you see one crossing the road, you better stop right there and catch it. If you go down the road a ways to pull over, someone will get it before you get back to it! Lol

Lmao! That's essdub before he found saddles!
That's messed up.
The sad thing is that my former co workers left that video playing at my station a couple years ago.
So I guess my advice to Huck a week or so about what to do when people call you a horse may apply.
P.s.
That kid ain't right. There'd something wrong with anYone THAT fond of turtles. Except eating them, that's ok. They're tasty in soup
