Ground Blinds For Deer Hunting

Blinds work great. I would set it up at least a month before the season. Also try to even hide the blind.
Grass it in or branches something.
i mean the tv guys and big youtube guys put blinds up then kill deer asap but in the real world.
Deer are gonna be leary of a blind just all of a sudden appearing in their spots they frequent.
Blinds are great but just like everything that has to do with chasing big whitetails you gotta like always prepare way before the season.

I hunt from both throughout the season. I prefer a treestand or saddle hands down because of the benefit of shot opportunity. I use the blind in late winter when a lot of the leaves have fallen and I know right where they will be coming through. I'm also a taller person (6'3") so being in an average blind doesnt work great.

That being said, use what works for you and what you prefer!

When it gets down into the twenties I move to the ground blinds because I feel uncomfortable climbing with a lot of layers of bulky clothing. It seems to require more insulation after you have been hunting for over 60 years.

I have one, but I use it mostly for turkey since they don't seem to care about a blind suddenly popping up. But for deer, I wouldn't want to leave it out in the elements for too long. I did once, and a snow fall collapsed the roof.

A natural or stick built ground blind works great though! I've had a ton of deer walk right next to me or right up to me while in a natural or stick blind. I'd still make sure to build one prior to the season starting, but if you can find a natural one that allows shot opportunities, it can be awesome. We've got one my uncle found 20 years ago on public, and it still produces every year.

I really only use a ground blind when I have a youth hunter with me.

I much prefer just leaning up against a tree is sitting in a turkey chair in a bush.
