H2 Saddle

I thought even the tethers and aero are not accredited by TMA ?

If I remember right there is a reason that no saddle is rated by the TMA it might be shoulder straps, or they don’t have a classification? I’m sure someone remembers. I know Ernie or Greg knows, I’m just drawing a blank.

That fact that you can get a H2 in a couple of weeks is freakin awesome! It looks comfortable.
I’m a fan I was just responding to why some seem standoffish towards the H2.

So the others are not 'rated" by a independent third party. They tested it themselves leaned on the tailgate and guessed at 400lbs
H2 broke the test machine at 2699lbs on video.
quido's web uses Plastic buckles that look like they came from Walmart.

I get people have having hesitations. It the guys that virtue signal about safety when it come to H2 saddles. But are quiet when it comes to other stuff that is shady.

Digger1,
I see that you have like 26 posts or something so I’m betting you haven’t took the time to research anything your talking about. I seen the videos of Tethrd at the 3rd party testing facilities. Breaking there machine. I promise you it wasn’t no redneck broke it with my f150 testing.
Aerohunter has been in the game before there was a game. I haven’t even looked for there videos or load rating they have been making Arborhist saddles for many years. If you want to call them they will answer any questions you have about them and about third party testing.
I’m failing to see the argument about a Guidos web they don’t even make anymore? What’s your point with that?
I seen the H2 video the guy made which He literally was in his back yard so he broke the “test machine” which was a hi lift jack from Tractor supply.
I haven’t seen anyone promoting anything “shady” I actually see quite the other side. Most of what I’m guessing you say is “shady” isn’t being sold as a saddle “for ground use only”
You are literally proving my point for me.

Again I am just answering your questions. I am a fan of the H2. Just not your argument.
Thanks,
ImThere.

Has any one tried the H2 Saddle.
.
I have not seen any reviews. The price looks good.
I have. I bought a Medium and let me tell you, its built like a TANK very solid. Unfortunately my fat a%* was a little too big (saddle rode up my cheeks) so I contacted them and there was absolutely zero issues in swapping it for a large. Great, great great customer service and answers as quickly as any customer service I've dealt with.

Did you choose the leg loops? I think I'm wanting one without them

I recently got an H2 saddle. Will put in a hunt with it this weekend. I've tried a kestrel and mantis. The H2 is right up there with them as far as safety in my eyes.

I got the one with the leg loops. If I dont really use them this year I'll cut em off. The thing is built like a tank. No worries trusting my life with it.

I have hunted from a sitdrag for years and never need or wanted leg straps, Thank you for your input

I think you may have missed the point. It sounds like you guys agree on most things. The shady comment isn't in reference to any company as I read it. It's on people saying they don't trust the saddle because it's not commercially built so it can't be safe etc. However none of the commercially produced saddles have any more certifications than the H2.

I just ordered one. It has a lot of the features I’m looking for. For reference, I started saddle hunting in 2009 with a DIY, then Tree Suit, then GW, then 3 different TL Tree Saddles that I modified. I’m comfortable with my choice. I might end up back in my current choice of a 2006 TL Ambush with the leg straps cut off.

I did. I know it's not necessary but for me it's just piece of mind knowing theres no way it'll travel up (I also know that it wont either way). They way I look at it, it's one less thing I'm thinking and worrying about which frees me up to concentrate on the task at hand. I cant say enough good about H2. He got my returned saddle yesterday and got an email this morning that he's shipping out my replacement today.

Happy New Saddle Day! H2 is here! Played with it a bit before work. Seems pretty comfortable. Messing with my adjustable bridge for now. Seems I might like the rope man with my lineman to double as an adjustable bridge. Also liking the sit drag for a back band. As soon as I say in it with the back band it was a wow moment. I think guys that are so so comfortable that don’t have a back band need to get one. A used binocular strap or whatever. Can’t wait to get in the woods with it.

@Digger1 tethrd has caught a lot of flak here for the leg buckles not being rated. It’s not just H2 saddles that people have been critical of.
Now as far as why I trust tethrd/new tribe gear over h2
New tribe has been in the business for many years and one of the challenges they faced early on in the hunting market was they were severely overbuilding their gear. Their work is top notch but the flex seems to be challenging them. Overall the safety part is in the webbing and that has always been high quality.

Tethrd sought out contractors with certifications for building life saving gear. Then had it tested by an independent third party and it passed all the tma tests but isn’t eligible for certification because of the lack of shoulder straps.

H2 is to my knowledge building them in his home with who knows what kind of training, skills, experience he has. His work looks ok from what I have seen but he appears to use way too many stitches. You reach a point of negative return where every stitch past a certain point is actually weakening the webbing. His disclaimer is almost saying he isn’t confident enough in his work and design to recommend you leave the ground in it. My understanding is because the way he markets it his disclaimer does nothing to save him in a court room.
That said I don’t think it’s going to fail anyone. If I didn’t have 7 saddles and was needing a saddle for this season I would probably give his a try. The price difference is negligible. It looks like it should be comfortable enough and safe enough.

I just placed my order for one. I got the camouflage leg strap model. I’m a newbie but from outward appearances I cannot see the difference in one from another.

I just spent opening morning in my H2. Loved it. I'm just bummed I didnt take up saddle hunting years ago, would have saved me a lot of sweat putting up and tearing down treestands (and $$)
