A buddy of mine is shopping for a newer bow and so we went to a trusted Matthews dealership near us yesterday. This shop is Matthews Exclusively, they have been the top 100 Matthews dealerships for several years.... anyway, they were QAD on everything for years, now they are all using Hamskea rests of some flavor or whatever. Just adding this to the discussion.
I also asked how they liked the new bridge lock riser to accomadate dovetail sights. It is a cool concept, and they are all making adjustments to their sights via new brackets or whatever to accommodate the need for additional windage. As this evolves it will be neat to see what changes are made over the next several years with accessories. They told me Matthews' production hasn't been really too impacted, but the shops biggest problem now is accessories inventory like sights etc. All or most of the accessory manufacturers are way behind.
Finally, they had a sight light system that "wakes" when you touch the bow. Apparently, the manufacturers are pretty young dudes located somewhere near Albany NY. It has a digital readout that says "sleeping" (which prevents the sight light batteries' from prematurely draining out). I didn't catch the name of the product nor the company, but it looked pretty cool. I'm not sure I would want to be so dependent on all of these electronics but look how the military is using this stuff in hard battle conditions with pretty good reliability. It's not for me but it was pretty cool.
