Harbor freight arrow saw

Cool, thanks for all the good information. I haven’t ever cut arrows or made a jig to cut arrows so the explanation helps a lot.

I like the polish on this build, but a work bench, couple clamps, dremel with an abrasive disc, measuring tape and a sharpie can do if you're only cutting down 6 arrows a year. For a bonus, mount the sucky end of a shop-vac hose near the blade and run it too, to reduce dust. I think the more important part is getting a clean cut end and squaring it off afterward - and a speed square and flat file can do that part, as my dad used to say, "good enough for who it's for."

Well thanks for posting Weldabeast I ordered one this morning. Sick of having to go to a bow shop to get arrows cut and have been on the fence about something similar for awhile.

Has anyone had any luck with a blade in a compound saw? Just curious. Was gonna try the HF. Saw. But wondering if buying a blade for a saw I all ready have works as good. Seems spinning the arrow might be the key? Just curious.

I don't think the miter saws spin fast enough IIRC. The carbon needs high RPMs to be cut cleanly, otherwise it splinters out badly or shatters the shaft.

This is a sweet setup! From the photos, it looks like the 3" Chicago cutoff saw that runs at 20k RPM? Stock blade?
Correct but they don't come with blades. I just bought a 4 pack at the same time. I have also ditched the metal strapping and mounted it with u-bolts. I will post some pics of it once my entire bow bench build is complete.

I built my DIY arrow saw using the methods/materials shown in this video. Really simple, cheap and it worked for my recent arrow build:

For cutting carbon you need a really high RPM where a chop saw most likely wouldn't be fast enough. Most arrow saws are 8,000+ RPM and much thinner blades. I suppose you could still get away with it just go slow and spin the arrow
