Hawk helium stick modification

So I have a set of the hawk helium 20 inch sticks. When you lock them together they are almost impossible to separate. I broke 3 of the male connectors and hawk is send replacements. What modifications have you done to be able to separate these a little easier?

Same as what the others have said. Trim the seam of mold line inside the female suction cups and they will work fine. I used an Exacto knife (pen knife) with a pointed blade. Takes a little time and effort but well worth it. And any distorted cups will work just fine once mated for a bit.
