Hawk Helium suction cups

I wouldn't say these are suction cups but rubber recesses into which a plastic part fits to hold them together.

I ordered a set of sticks from midway and one of the Male pieces was broken when I got them. I'm going to make some replacements at work, will be much stronger than the plastic ones they used. I do like the suction cups though.

I like them they keep everything together nicely. I did have to add a piece of paracord to keep them stuk together because they did not come with the bungees that they show on the ata YouTube videos.

I love my unsuction cups. Stacks great and silent. These sticks are awesome and affordable.

I agree with what all have said about the suction cup issue. I have already rigged up a way to strap them together and carry. If I get the parts and the suction cup works as designed then all the better.

Had mine a week. Stacked them twice. Now waiting on Hawk to fix the issue. One of the smaller bits is already broken. And another is angled so it doesn’t seat. I hoping for spare parts that can throw in the drawer. Plan is to remove the unnecessary pieces from my bottom stick. Toss those two into the spots where the screwed up ones live. I asked Hawk for a full set as these are brand new and I don’t have the confidence in the others.

The new nesting system looked like a great idea. I guess I'll just stay with my first gen Heliums, at least for now.

Other than the suction cup deal I really like the sticks so far. I have some amsteel on order to change out the straps even though I thought the straps worked just fine. I guess I gotta follow the crowd and modify them some how.

Older post but, besides some paint that I cant seem to make my mind whether or not I'll do, these are hunt ready. Well mine us a carry strap. Been able to climb a few times in the yard, and for the money esp at mack's, I don't know how you can beat these sticks. I'm leaving them full length for now and using a removable 1 step aider. Gets my top step just under 18' which is really high enough considering high thick it is wear I'll be hunting. P.S. Mine came with spare male sides to the couplers.

That's the part that was broke on mine and alot of others. Seems they expect some to show up broke and send out replacements now. Still really like the sticks though. Got the amsteel on and I painted them. Will practice some more. Cant wait for the season to start.20190730_233307.jpg20190730_232948.jpg

It took longer then I expected but I did get replacement parts...lots of them lol. They must think I’ll be breaking more. Not a good sign. Oh well, I do like the sticks.

Do mind explaining how you painted these? thanks

A picture is worth a thousand words right. I used some of the methods I have seen @g2outdoors do in his video and others and what I've done in the past.

First I sprayed a base coat of khaki.

Then I used the sponge method (G2 style) and a template cut out of a manilla folder to add layers of color.

I then sprayed (more of "misting") of earth brown to "dull" the brighter khaki areas. These are the colors I used.

I am going to take mine off. I dont think they are necessary and it appears they are somewhat fragile so probably wouldn't last anyway. Nice try though.

@Sziggy2.0 I am working on a project and could use some extra suction cups. Would you be willing to get rid of yours? Thanks

Sorry all but one broke. There was an alternative that someone came up with on here on one of the helium mod threads. Here is a screen shot of what some guys are using. Haven't tried them so dont know how well they work.

Great. Thanks!

mine were TOO TIGHT ... dunno if they're gen1/2, etc... but just bought them and once together couldn't get them APART in garage while learning what to do in dark ... broke 3 of the posts off that night... now gotta fish those out, take the broken base off and I don't think I'm gonna put them back (even if I COULD find replacements... has anyone yet?) because I think I can do something simple like carpet stickies or something so they don't clang in transit and pack tighter together ...

has anyone gotten replacements for any that broke off - where from?
