They are 350 on amazon right now. Its a thompson design also. $150 ish to add the monster wheel. Ive seen a lot of good reviews. Im between houses while mines being built and no where to put it or use it. Im gonna pull that trigger the day i move. I have so many projects in mind. Thanks I'll take a look at that one
I have both. My advice would be that if your intent is to only sew one or two projects just get the singer heavy duty. It will work for most things with a quality needle and thread and is inexpensive. The heavy-duty singer should go through multiple webbing layers but if you plan to continue sewing and picking it up as a serious hobby I would try and find a used industrial machine or something like benny a. gregoire jr. mentioned above. I started with a $100 singer machine and did my first saddle and found that I love to make things with a sewing machine so I picked up two heavy duty commercial machines for cheap and have sewn at least 20 different hunting projects so far including a few saddles for family. It can be addicting. After using a commercial machine it is hard to go back to a starter machine. I would also recommend a walking foot model.
