Helium Steps on 1" Tubing

I'd slot the 1" tube so the step can fold into the tube. Place a spacer on either side of the step inside on the bolt. Think "folding knife" and how the blade folds into handle. Call it the Switchblade. QUOTE]

Too late.

See you in a tree, Ricky

Yes, the steps inside the tube sounds really cool but not sure about cutting a slot that long into the tube. If it proves feasible, I'm calling dibs on SwitchStick! There - trademarked and patent pending! Just need to beat @shamus275 to market.
I did that last summer, dont bother... I'll see if I have some pics from doing it. I know I dont have the tube anymore, it got totaled and scrapped lol

I’m sure someone can make it work, ppl drill 72k holes per stick and nobody talks about failure. I would have to think that if someone machined a groove in 1” square stock it could feasibly work but then again I’m not an engineer... I just play one on saddle hunter.

In square stock it would probably be fine, I just didnt have the time or desire to go that far with it. Maybe in the future, I still have a pile of those steps sitting on a shelf.
