To all,

Finally, a place where I don't have to feel like I'm the only real person who hangs from a tree instead of sits. I must admit that everyone I told about my Guido's Web couldn't fathom that I was talking about, or the very least why I would want to use it as a hunting platform. I bought the guido's web because I couln't find a tree saddle and I'm not sad that I did. I have spent probably more than 200 hours in it in just 2 season. I spend most of my off time in the trees for hours at a time and probably spent some time asleep. Now I just visited the newtribe site and found this forum through its pages. I want one! But the price is about $50 more than I paid for the web. I guess I'll have to save up for it. I hope to learn many things from my fellow saddlehunters. I'm very new to the hunting life style. I have only really hunted fro three seasons and I am hooked. It is not just a hobby for me, but a life style change. I can't go two hours without thinking about hunting. I hope this never leaves my blood.

Phil.

Welcome to the site Phil! :D

Trust me, we know how you feel!

Good to have you aboard, Phil. You'll fit right in here. I've been saddle hunting for about 9 years and I've learned a ton from this site after just a monmth or so. Lots of cool info I never thought of and products I didn't know were out there! I, too, am completely hooked on hunting from a saddle. .. it's difficult for me to sit in my climber ladder stand or even a cozy box blind anymore! Cheers, Kirk

Oh, and if you haven't read John and Chris Eberhart's books, yet, I highly recommend them! John's a member on this forum, too!

Welcome Phil

Can't believe you can go 2 hours! I'm at about 10 minutes at the most.

I want to personally thank you for braving this f--ked up world and putting your life on the line for us to do things like post on this site. Our liberties are quite often taken for granted and anyone that serves or travels outside this fine country of ours, knows just how well we have it and how it takes people like yourself to preserve it.

Thanks again for your service and welcome.

Thanks guys,

I have read all of the Eberhart's books. When I get back to the States I am going to get their DVDs too. I always felt a pull to the outdoors, but once I had a taste I realized that it was my passion. I'm wanting to do more for our precious resources. I'm currently seeking a degree field in wildlife management. I figure that if I can learn as much information about wildlife then it will make me a better outdoorsmen. I also want to seek a career as a Game Warden or of similar nature, but I'm not one of those bleeding heart nuts that don't want to kill. I believe as most of you all believe that in order to keep our game at the right levels we need to properly manage. Mother nature does this and are we not a part of the earth, then it is safe to say that our actions are mother nature. I have almost read every post on this site and sometime three and four times again. I am impressed with the professionalism with this site and its members. I am also impressed with the Eberharts and their humble characteristics. I once asked a question on Chris Eberhart's FB page and I was surprised that he replied in a matter of minutes. Thanks guys for all of your knowledge and I hope to soon be back in the trees next year.

Phil
