Life long public land hunter. As a youngin I started with building ground blinds out of blown downs and with age I have evolved to a tree dweller, swinging from a saddle!
 
We have some great public lands to hunt here in southwest Michigan. I've found the OnX app to be invaluable for learning just where public and private boarders meet. Found some areas that I always thought were private now it's one of my go to spots.

I’ve thought about hunting gamelands near my families farm on days when conditions aren’t perfect and I don’t want to add pressure to the farm. SW Michigan is a beautiful place to hunt whitetail!
