Hey guys, thought I'd say hi instead of lurking. Name is Mark and I'm a Masshole, but not the Cambridge yuppy tree hugger variety, I'm more of the conservative swamp yankee type. I started off hunting out of a climber but wanted something better, so about 7 years ago I got a tree saddle from Trophyline and haven't looked back. Still fine tuning my hunting out of it, I used to bring 15#'s of tree screws with me everywhere, clanking away in my backpack. I tried Jim Stepps Tree Stepps but I'm a bit on the heavy side for them. This year I'm trying 2 different things to make me light, mobile and stealthy: first is a set of LW sticks and 4 or 5 strap-on steps, second is a LW hand climber seat with the strap-ons.
So far this year our season started Monday, had a nice doe on the ground out of my saddle in the afternoon. Checked her in and processed her yesterday and this morning, hopefully today I can sit near some buck beds if the weather makes that practical.
See you around,
Mark
