Hi all. I've browsed a bit & decided to join up. I'm always interested to explore new methods of hunting. I'm no stranger to tree climbing. I worked in the tree service for 6 or so years before my current job & did a fair amount of climbing. I still have all that gear: saddle, Klein gaffs, climbing line, lanyards, etc. I've used it to hang tree stands, but it's a little bulky & noisy for hunting. I have several hang on stands, climbing sticks, ladders, & a Summit climber, but would like to pick up a saddle & some lighter sticks, and whatever else I need to have this option too. We have a decent size area of private property, but some of it can only be accessed by foot & is hard to get to, steep hills & bluffs. There's also a good bit of public land locally that I'd like to hunt, so I'd like to have a lighter option than a climber or hang on. Anyway, thanks or having me, & I look forward to conversing with you all.

The saddle will make you a better killer, packability, stealth, being able to hunt areas no climber can, etc. The areas of N Alabama I hunt occasionally is difficult walking, ledge rocks with lots of love cedars.

Welcome fro Louisiana! I’m a transplant here. I’m originally from AL. Just spent Christmas in Oxford/Anniston. :) Love it.

Welcome to the site. I'm down south of you in Birmingham. I hunt public land and having a saddle has opened up a lot of opportunities since I don't have to pack a stand in with me.

Lot of good info and helpful folks here! Jump in!

Welcome from north Georgia. I'm new to the forum and saddle hunting as well.

Welcome from central Mississippi. Hunting public land here with a climber on your back can be brutal. While I haven’t actually hunted with my saddle yet, I’m excited to be able to walk in with a small backpack and my bow and maybe a gun every once in awhile... lots of great info on this site and the guys are very helpful.
