My son finally convinced me to consider trying saddle hunting. I was looking online and found this forum. There seems to be a ton of good information here and I’m looking forward to learning about this way of hunting.

Welcome from Georgia. There is a ton of good info here. Maybe a little bad info too but a great group of hunters that for the most part are willing to help out.

Welcome from Michigan.

2 years in a saddle now... much less scary than a climber! Im glad my buddy that gave me the climber told me, "you should tie a rope between the rail and platform..."

Climber is in my shed now. Saddle goes with me whether I hunt from a deadfall tree or find a good tree to climb. And I have no remorse when I don't climb a tree... I don't even take my saddle off if I hunt from the ground.

I learned that the hard way. Luckily when the bottom half of my climber fell to the bottom of the tree I wasn’t really high up(less than ten feet). I hung from the seat section of my climber and dropped to the ground. Then I put the bottom about chest high and climbed up on it and was able to reach the part of the climber I left in the tree. I had always wondered what the rope that came with the climber was for. I should have read the directions. I was much younger then, so I wasn’t interested in that.

Welcome from a fellow West Virginian Good luck next week

Good luck to you too.

Unfortunately I have to work so I’ll have limited chances next week. I’ve been on vacation for the last two weeks for bow hunting. I didn’t have enough left to take gun season too.

Hah! I did the exact same thing when I was younger.
