I use a rubber sling I bought 20 years ago and never used that has loops on each end to attach to a bow or rifle (30/30 back then). I have the 4 17" Leverage sticks that stack on top of each other really compact and use one cinch strap to hold them together. I attach the rubber sling on each end and put the strap over my head to my right shoulder and the sticks hang on my left side on top of my fanny pack which I carry on my left hip. The fanny pack helps hold some of the weight from the sticks and makes for a decent hike due to no real weight on my shoulders.

Smokinya1 seems like a good method because the weight on the shoulders and neck are the things that kill me.

Bowhunter15 let me know how that goes for you. Are you using 1 stick method?

It worked alright but I still prefer having my bow in one hand and the other free.

hi new member. Been hunting out of a saddle and sticks for 6 years now

Ive tried carrying sticks a lot of ways, but my current set up is easiest on my back so far. Mabye it will help others too.

I use these endless loop style bungees to lash everything together. You could use about anything I imagine, but the bungees are quick.

5 LW sticks, ameristeps on ratchet strap. Bow/gun along with smaller junk go in my eberlstock slingshot pack.

I start of by lashing two pair of sticks together

Then by turning the pairs opposite eachother and fitting in that fifth wherever it fits I can make a decent bundle with a couple more bungees around the entire thing.

Then I tuck the ends of my platform straps under bungees and wrap up the loose strap

The bungees also create nice little handles out of your tree straps.

I carried the sticks like this all of last year and still do in the thick stuff, but this year I added a couple extra carabiners. Hook them right up to the bungees or whatever lashing.

And then hook those up to the backpack shoulder webbing

Its pretty crazy how much lighter this feels to me than the numerous setups Ive tried on my back. Better weight distribution or maybe its just me and my screwed up back.
Still its a wide profile so I use it when I on those long road/field walks or in open woods.

Just bought three of these lock bungees after hunting today. I can already tell they will work perfect. Thanks for the help. Also, I tried a sling and it was a lot better than my muddy shoulder straps.

I hooked up molle shoulder straps to one of my sticks. After the other sticks are stacked they can be cinched together with straps from the molle and the bungees that came with the sticks then worn like a backpack. Here it is with modified sit drag attached.

That's actually my platform. I was just using the top of the stick but that makes it much easier on the feet.
