Help on a pack!

i just got a popup 38 (they're on sale today on gohunt, come on sale every few months, looks like the 28s were as well), half for use in the tree here in MD, half for use when i visit my brother, who'lll be an alaska resident after living there 8 more months.

I have owned many many packs. ;) Of the packs you listed, I have owned the X2 and currently own the Pintler. This will be my first season hunts with the Pinter, but so far I love it. I have only used it for trail cam work but it carries great.
I bought a Pintler last year. Probably a little much for my whitetail hunting early season. Later when I start carrying more cloths its awesome. I think the layout works great for saddle hunting to.

After trying them all I ended up on the kifaru 22 mag with a 26 inch frame. It’s a lot of pack. If I was ordering today I would get the 24 inch frame even though I’m over 6ft tall. The 24 is perfect for whitetail and you would only ever need the 26 if you’re planning to elk hunt also. It came down to quality of materials and ability to carry a load comfortably and the combo I use will haul dang near anything comfortably. Lots of attachment options also. I think the Kuiu frame and a 1800 bag would work well for most guys. And the mystery ranch packs work well also. The Kifaru stuff is just on a different level when it comes to materials and attachment options. So I went for broke and got it. The main thing I preach to everyone is to get a bag with a frame and adjustable yoke. That’s where the comfort comes from, being able to fit the frame to your body.
