Returning to archery and hunting after too many years away. So as I approach retirement and have cut back on how much I work I'm returning to things I loved when younger. This time I have gone to a recurve and I'm loving it. Most of my practice at this point is with my olympic style recurve, but I am increasing the number of arrows I loose from my hunting weight bow as I build up for bow season. I am building extreme FOC arrows for this rig. I only recently came across videos of hunting saddles, originally from a vid from the hunting public, and just became absolutely enthralled with the idea. So on G2s recomendation I ventured over here. Hoping to have enough time to get and practice with a saddle before hunting season. This looks like just too much fun.

Welcome from northwest Bama. It's addicting for sure and adds a new level of fun to hunting.

welcome from central NY. You have enough time if to get proficient enough for this season, especially if you have some free time to practice climbing.

Welcome from Georgia
Saddle hunting is a blast. Nobody is excited to get out and practice with their climber in preparation for the season. Definitely practice with the recurve from the saddle before season. I’m adding a clicker to mine. It’s really easy to short draw in the saddle.

Welcome from Maine! I was the same way, dropped away from bow hunting for a couple years, saw the saddle vids and dove back in head first! Get ready to spend your retirement having a DIY saddle shop in a portion of your garage like I am sure most of us do!
