High Tenpratures seem to shut deer down especially in the pressured areas I hunt. A ton of factors will shut deer down but, I usually dont let that effect my decision to head out and climb high.
As long as I have been hunting, which is 30 years. There is nothing that takes my interest away from the woods more than High Temps.
An appointment i need to attend around 5:00pm im not heading out at all today.
A day of Catch up is what i need lol. Im an older chap and I believe the older I get the more days like this i will need lmao
Its alomost 75 degrees today and I have decided to get some really needed things done rather than go out.
I know its November first and I have been hard at it and the most active time of year for bucks is on our door steps
So missing an oppurtunity tonight doesnt bother me compared to one next week with a cold fron coming.
Hope everyone is having a greatseason and seeing lots of bone

I'm there with you... I went out the last 4 days as I don't typically go on public once gun starts and my wife has a work trip starting tomorrow but offda!!... .. november 1st and we're hitting 70 degrees today... not good in southern MN....I saw a decent buck come in 10 minutes before legal shoot... last thing I saw moving

I keep telling myself I should get out. But the weather has not been great. High in the 70s this week. I’m actually on paternity leave until next Tuesday. I’m hoping for a couple of decent days before I go back to work. I got drawn for reduction hunts at a state park nearby. So I think I’m going to use my time to scout there instead of hunting during less than ideal conditions. It’s also not far from the house. So that’ll keep the wife happy.

Congrats... first kids or another?... I took a week off everytime we had a kid.... by the 3rd my wife was telling me to go do something with myself by the end of the week

I took off Monday to recharge the batteries for tomorrow and later this week. It's a longer season than what people think. Also with the amount of yearlings and fawns I've seen this year, I think the second or post rut will be as active as the main rut.

I'll be out for bear this week as it sends Saturday. I won't hit any S, A, or B tier spots so I don't ruin them for that cold front coming through next week. Definitely depressing tho being this piss warm

65* hunt today. Watched squirrels steal corn from the neighbors corn pile. Then had s mink disappear in a clump of weeds 20 yards behind me then this boy showed up... (And died 10 yards from where the mink disappeared)PXL_20221101_214834323.jpg

I usually take off around the time from the 5th to the 8th. High temps seem to follow me every year. I need to plan my Vaca days well in advance so when I'm off I'm hunting no matter the temps. Yes deer movement can be slower on warm days but it only takes one hot doe to change everything. I've had 3 day spans of 70s in November and didn't see anything the first 2 days then on day 3 it was like a bomb went off. 2 hot doe were getting chased and pushed around by 5 different bucks. We only have so many November's in our lifetime. Got to make the best of it.
