I filled my platform with closed cell expanding foam to take the ''ping'' out of the tubing..... I wish i hadn't done it. It is noticeably more quite but still makes a lot of racket with metal to metal. It added very noticeable amount of weight. This platform will be the backup or loaner. I'm going to make another just like it and go a different route... My question is are stealth strips all they're cracked up to be? I saw they have 3x30 pieces at $5.50....2 of those should cover everything minus the top (standing surface) which I'm going to put grip tape. Grainger has a roll of adhesive backed felt 10ft for $8. How thick are the stealth strips? The stuff from grainger can be ordered 1/8 - 1/2 thick. I just learned about the felt rating system that i had no idea existed. Does anyone know the ''F'' rating on stealth strips? The ''F'' rating goes from 1-15 with 1 having the highest vibration dampening and 15 the lowest. Stealth strip doesnt give very much technical info on their website. I'm kinda leaning toward the stuff from grainger.....1'' wide, 1/8 thick, 10ft, gray in color, with an f rating of three for 8 dollars. Any info on the stealth strips or general thoughts is appreciated....and for anybody thinking of filling their stuff with expanding foam i would not recommend it. Not enough gained for the hassle

Back when I used a stand, I loved stealth strips.
Fantastic product!

I had to order the grip tape anyway so i went ahead and bought a roll of felt....I'll post up if it's any good once it gets here. If it's cheaper and works better at deadening sounds some people might be interested. Only negative i can see is its not camouflage but it'll be 15+ for off the ground so it's not necessary IMO. The main gripe i have with the expanding foam is the added weight. I never put the platform on a scale so i don't have any real numbers but the added weight was enough to make me want to make another....and the metal on metal noise didn't really change....just took the ''ring'' out of the tubing noise

Stealth Strips are the best thing on the market that I am aware of. The only comlaint I have ever heard about Stealth Strips is that they are hard to remove...Who knew?

Ocb buckle is totally quite and i have traction. I can't get it to make any noise unless i bounce the hook off the grip taped areas....not sure how long it'll stay put, but the felt adhesive was better than expected.....I'll try to remember to put up an update after hunting seasons over to comment on longevityIMG_20190720_152346.jpgIMG_20190720_152154.jpgIMG_20190720_152139.jpg

Had some extra felt to quite my sticks. These are version 4.0.... I seen to make a new set every season trying to improve from the last ones. These should be close to perfection for my style of hunting. Under 5.5 pounds without the amsteel, felt, and grip tape. IMG_20190720_171359.jpgIMG_20190720_171418.jpgIMG_20190720_171534.jpg
